According to new research conducted by uSwitch.com, the average household income stands at £2,504, which is £1,435 a month short of the £3,939 required in order to feel financially secure. The price comparison and switching service has also revealed that for 61 percent of respondents, the difference between their actual income and their dream income is so extensive that they do not feel secure at all.

According to the Office for National Statistics, there was a 2.3 percent rise in UK house prices in the twelve months to June 2012, which was also the case in the twelve months to May 2012. House prices are reportedly continuing to remain ‘relatively stable’ across the majority of the country.

According to research commissioned by MoneySupermarket.com, 26 percent of UK respondents would not inform their insurance provider if they made structural changes to their property, such as converting their attic or building an extension.

According to new research commissioned by Baring Asset Management, 44 percent of respondents do not currently expect to fund their retirement with a pension. The international investment management firm has pointed out that this is equivalent to 15.7 million UK adults whom have not yet retired.
