Help with repayments

At Nemo, we understand that your circumstances may change and that you may not be able to make your repayments on their due date. The following information may be of use if you are experiencing difficulty making your secured loan repayments to Nemo Personal Finance.

What if I’m having problems paying my secured loan?
Our Arrears Management team are specifically trained in dealing with repayment difficulties and have a great deal of experience in helping customers just like you. They will look at your specific circumstances and will treat you considerately and fairly.
Tell us as soon as you can if you are having difficulties repaying your secured loan, or if you think you may experience problems in the near future. The most important thing is to talk to us – if we are aware of your situation we may be in a better position to help.

What can I do to help myself?
It is vital that you prioritise your debts. If you feel that you are getting into financial difficulty, speak to your secured lender and your mortgage lender as soon as you can. Remember, unlike your unsecured debts (such as credit cards), a Nemo loan is secured on your home in the same way as your first mortgage.
If you find that you get into arrears, it is important that you start to repay these as soon as you can. If possible, make extra repayments where and when you can. Remember, if you are in financial difficulty, then you should telephone us on 0800 019 7415. We would work with you to find the most practical solution and look to help you wherever we can.

What can Nemo do to help me?
Nemo will offer you advice and specific solutions tailored to your circumstances. The solutions we have available to offer you include:

  • Arranging to clear your arrears over an agreed period of time.
  • Alternatively we may be able to extend the term of your loan and reduce your monthly outgoings if your current term allows it. 
  • You may also have the opportunity to add the arrears to your loan and get your payments back up to date.
  • Nemo is focussed on working with you to achieve a mutually beneficial solution. Our trained Arrears Management Advisors are here to help you in times of difficulty.
