Nemo Personal Finance raises £3,000 for Wales Air Ambulance
Employees at a leading Welsh finance company proved they have what it takes when it comes to fundraising, after generating over £3,000 for the charity Wales Air Ambulance.
The team at Nemo Personal Finance in Cardiff chose Wales Air Ambulance as their charity of the year for 2010 and threw themselves into fundraising with a programme of charity events throughout last year. In 12 months they raised a total of £3183.80.
Some of the fun events included dress down Fridays where Nemo colleagues paid for the pleasure of wearing what they wanted to work; a Six nations competition where they paid to guess the results of the matches; auctions; guessing the number of sweets in a jar at £1 a go, and finally, a special Air Ambulance Golden Hour Challenge day which involved wearing an item of gold clothing and a special baking competition.
The company which employs 131 has certainly made its commitment to raising funds for Wales Air Ambulance a priority and it shows.
Wales Air Ambulance Corporate Manager, Anna Evans said: “Staff at Nemo have really thought carefully about how to raise funds for Wales Air Ambulance during 2010 and their efforts are apparent.
“To have raised over £3000 is a great achievement. It shows that the team at Nemo has big hearts when it comes to charity.
“They should be very proud of their efforts especially as this money is enough to fund three lifesaving missions in one of our helicopters. They have effectively helped to save three lives in Wales this year.”
Ian Praed, Operations Director at Nemo Personal Finance commented “Nemo’s charity of the year is nominated and voted for by our staff who rose to the challenge in 2010, putting great efforts into fundraising activities for Wales Air Ambulance. We’re glad that the effort made will help to save lives across Wales.”
